Snorkeling. Fiji is known as the "Soft Coral Capital of the World" and makes the list as one of the best snorkeling spots in the world.

Mamanuca Islands. Located near the Viti Levu, the Mamanucas are one of the most popular destinations within Fiji. Filled with resorts and snorkeling and surfing sites, this island group is a convenient destination for families and for those with limited time.

Yasawa Islands. These remote islands are popular with backpackers and flashpackers. Activities here include snorkeling, swimming, and village visits.

Taveuni.  This is the spot in Fiji for eco-tourism. Hike to the top of a volcano or go on a horse trek through the jungle.

Modriki Island. Also known as Monuriki Island, this was the filming site for the movie "Cast Away," starring Tom Hanks. This island is gorgeous and makes an unforgettable day trip from the Mamanuca Islands.

Dive with Tiger Sharks.  Off the coast of the island of Beqa is a Shark Marine Life Reserve, giving those daring enough the chance to swim with Tiger sharks.

Cloud 9.  Want to visit a floating bar with barely another island in sight? If so, this is the place for you. Order drinks, dine on surprisingly good pizza, and jump from the top deck into the aquamarine water below.

Firewalking.  On Beqa island, watch as members of the Sawau tribe walk over burning embers.
